New Series Coming Soon… – Ryan Laley Games

Hi Everyone,

TLDR: New series coming soon, every episode available at once. Series is creating your first game in UE4.

A little update on what to expect soon. I have been wanting to make a series for someone coming to Unreal Engine 4 for the first time and new to games development in general.

The series will be released to Gold and higher Patrons all at once. That’s right. Every Episode. From Day 1. Along with the assets used in the video to create the game.

The premise of this series is for viewers to follow along and make a whole game; their first game, in Unreal. I have seen other channels have a similar series but they are often FPS games that aren’t actually all that useful as they stand incomplete or are way too long to follow.

I also didn’t want to do just Pong or something that is commonly done. So this is a series of videos which I teach to my real life students for their first game. That is a Maze Game. The Maze Game is a simple get from A to B maze but with the addition of locked doors and traps to impede progress. It is a full game so it will include menus and sound too.

It will be released in Chapters with each chapter focused on one part of the development. Chapter 1 is done and completed.

Chapter 4: Traps
Chapter 5: Sound
Chapter 6: Menus & Polish

The series will then end with a challenge video, where I will task viewers to add their own features; to take what they have learnt and develop something extra to it.
