What to Expect Next?
Hi Everyone!
As you know I will be going full time working on the channel, private tutoring, and freelance work in games dev. This is an exciting time and will finally allow me the time and energy to do things that I have wanted to do but couldn’t before.
What are these new developments?
Well here some of the highlights of what is to come from July onwards:
Weekly Devlog Videos
The newest type of video on the channel is Devlog. The first episode came out and there are more to come. However from July, these will be regular fixtures in the release schedule, aiming for one each week on Sundays. This new video series will have discussion topics in game design, reviews of hardware, software, and plugins; and much more.
Monthly Podcast Episodes
Originally planned for weekly releases I have decided for the time being to make these new episodes monthly with emphasis on talking to those in and from industry to share their knowledge and experience. These will be available on Spotify and other podcast delivery services.
Behind the Scenes Patron Only Streams
Via Patreon and Discord I will be doing Patron only streams of me working on developing and testing ideas for video content. A sneak peak at the process and a general room to hang out and make stuff and talk shop.
More 1-2-1 Sessions
I am dedicating more time in the week days to 1-2-1 private sessions, allowing me to see more people each week. This will also allow for those all over the world to find a slot that suits their time zone and availability.
Full Series Releases
For those supporting me at the Platinum and Diamond Tiers, you will receive the entire series of videos in one go rather than weekly releases. With more time to develop video content I want to be in a position to offer this large chunk of content for those donating the most as a way of saying thank you.
New Series Coming Soon
Along with finishing existing series currently being released, this is just a selection of the new series starting on the Patreon page over the months from July:
- Online Multiplayer – Connecting and Hosting Games
- Turn Based JRPG
- VR
- Animal AI
- Much more…
Unreal Engine 5
Unreal Engine 5 is due for release early next year in 2022. Currently the series of videos will remain in UE5 whilst it is in Early Access. However, you can expect to find video tutorials about the new features of Unreal Engine 5 in the run up to its release. Don’t worry, all of your UE4 projects and tutorials will remain usable in UE5.
This is just the beginning. There are many other exciting things that will be happening but I can’t share those yet. But be on the look out for their announcements sooner rather than later.
Once again thank you for continued support. It is because of you that I am able to do all of this and keep supporting my family. So in return I want to give as much content as can to all of you.
Ryan
